Metaphysics

Metaphysics is the branch of philosophy that studies the nature of the universe as a whole and contains within its field of study the most fundamental knowledge possible. In the words of Leonard Peikoff:

[…] the essence of metaphysics, according to Objectivism, is the step-by-step development of the corollaries of the existence axiom.¹
